We said goodbye last week to our workshop manager, Steve Ormondroyd, who has moved on to develop his career. Remarkably, he and his father Tony, now retired, served Westin Drives for a total of 68 years.
Steve began his 19-year-stint as an apprentice under the exacting eye of Tony, who was then the workshop manager. It was a pleasure to see Steve follow in his dad's footsteps and, in due course, receive promotion to that senior position.

As well as his expertise with industrial motors, he has also been an excellent mentor, encouraging and guiding a host of young apprentices to qualified status. He also successfully introduced many new working practices.
Operations Director, Fraser Lynch says: 'He’ll be sorely missed, not only by the business but from a day-to-day social aspect.
'Customers were his focus and he’s done a great job of building the workshop to a point where it can be handed over.
'I wish him the best of luck in his new challenge and look forward to hearing about it in various pubs this winter.'
