How we became a thriving electric motor repair business
We have been serving industry for more than 100 years from our base in Huddersfield. These activities inspired our founder, Walter Stanley Westin, to establish Westin Drives in 1921.​

From the late 1940’s until the 1970s, Westin continues electrical repairs, and becomes a market leader in fireplace surrounds and canopies.

Walter Westin retires in the 1960s and hands over to his two sons. They retire in 1994 and the business is bought by local businessman John Eastwood, under whom the business invests, expands and flourishes.

In 2018, Westin Drives moves from a small workshop in Phoenix Mills to another former textile milll, Grove Mills, where ambitious development creates our large service centre with its modern facilities.

The Mills Transformed website says: 'The project is a superb example of how mills can be successfully refurbished to provide accommodation and facilities meeting the needs of modern manufacturing businesses.'​
