An engineer who began as a workshop apprentice at Westin Drives has been made a director.
Adam Daffern, 28, will become Technical Director of that company and of Quality Servomotor Repairs.
The promotion follows his achievements in developing technical services in Westin Drives and the integration and relocation of QSR.
While working in the technical department at Westin Drives, Adam studied for a degree in engineering management and was awarded first-class honours from Huddersfield University.
Managing director, Ian Sheppard says: 'I am delighted with this appointment as Adam has contributed a great deal over the eight years since joining the business.
'I am very proud that a colleague joining as an apprentice has grown sufficiently in his career to be appointed a director. Adam is now one of two directors in the Westin Engineering Group who have progressed from apprenticeships, illustrating our commitment to internal progression.'
Adam will take responsibility for the electro-mechanical services across the companies in addition to the existing management of the technical services department and QSR.
