![]() Westin Drives engineers tasted success after they were called to a food manufacturer to back up some inverter programs in the quiche and pie departments. The backups were carried out, the customer was given a flash drive copy, and the data was also stored on a secure server at Westin Drives service centre in Huddersfield. While on site in Bradford, the engineers were asked to help with an inverter which had been causing the company problems for a few days. The faulty inverter was used to drive the flour duster motor and, with it out of order, operators were tasked with dusting the pies manually, eating up costly labour. The fault was traced to an internal DC bus and a new inverter was supplied, installed, programmed and commissioned on site. Westin Drives has since been asked to assist with obsolete inverters in the company’s cheese department, upgrading them to modern drives. edit.
