Quick response by our engineers saved production at an automotive body repair shop in Cleckheaton where a ventilation system failure on a paint-curing oven was causing a backup.
After being let down by their existing supplier, the company turned to Google for help – and found Westin Drives. Our engineers were on site with the parts required within an hour of the enquiry and the machine was back up and running in time to finish the production planned for that afternoon.
While on site, Westin engineers were asked to look at a problem in another oven used for large vehicles. The customer thought that an electric motor-driven fan was faulty but our engineers traced the fault to a capacitor.
A replacement part was in stock at our service centre in Huddersfield at a cost of just £9.80, as opposed to the £250 the customer expected to pay for a motor repair. After the faults with the two ovens were rectified, a further imminent fault was found.
It was discovered that burnt contacts in a control panel would have failed if not attended to, so parts were sourced from an electrical distributor and our engineer returned to site the next day to replace the damaged motor starter, test the system, and complete the job during planned downtime.
The customer says that Westin Drives will now be the first point of contact for any electrical/mechanical work in the future.
