CASE STUDY: Repair of kitchen manufacturer's compressor drive

Our industrial electronic repair service came to the rescue when we were sent a faulty drive from a compressor used by a kitchen manufacturer. Upon inspection, it was clear the main transformer had blown. The cause: arcing due to poor tension on the fixing screws. It was removed for repair and refitted with new fixings. While the rest of the unit was being tested other faults were found, including the power supply PCB. This and other parts were replaced during the drive rebuild.
The drive was thoroughly tested before being returned to the customer. Back on site, the customer’s engineer had some difficulties reinstalling the unit into the compressor, but we were able to provide telephone support to ensure that the job was successfully completed on time.
