We frequently receive pumps for repair which arrive without the volute chamber. Usually this is because it is easier to leave it in situ when removing the pump for maintenance. As a result, our engineers can’t pressure test the mechanical seal or gaskets once the repair is complete. It was decided to design and build a universal pressure test rig which can be adapted to suit a variety of single impeller, flange-mounted pumps up to 30kW. We can now pressure test the repaired pumps and be certain they will go back to the customer to be re-fitted without the risk of leaks, which would lead to further downtime and costs. Westin Drives is committed to providing a quality repair and service for customers and this pump test rig is another reason why they can have confidence in our repairs. We are always focused on ways to improve our testing capabilities and are committed to continuous improvement throughout the business.

It's awesome that this article talked about it was determined to design and build a universal pressure test rig that could be converted to fit a range of single impeller, flange-mounted pumps with capacities up to 30kW. I'm glad that you explain it thoroughly and now it makes more sense. You did a great job of explaining pump overhauls.
