Workers at a Huddersfield quarry were frustrated by the constant tripping of two synchronized gantry traverse drives on a stone saw, right.
They had called out the makers of the drives 12 months previously but they were unable to solve the problem. Engineers from Westin Drives were at the quarry recently to deliver a servo motor when they heard about the nuisance tripping of the saw.
They were able to diagnose the problem – and went on to supply and install two new drives and encoder cables in the cutting shed. They also carried out program backups on additional controllers throughout the site.
